Your innovative approach to maximizing light through reflective surfaces in Aton Office addresses a common challenge in workspace design - how did you develop this solution to transform limited natural light into an aesthetic advantage?

At Aton Office, we approached the challenge of limited natural light as a design opportunity. By strategically incorporating reflective materials such as mirrors, polished laminates, and high-gloss finishes we redirected available light to brighten the space organically. These surfaces were not only functional but became aesthetic elements that enhanced visual depth, openness, and a dynamic play of light. We believe that every constraint in a project can be transformed into a signature design strength when handled with creativity and intention.

The 3.7-meter high ceilings in Aton Office create an impressive sense of spaciousness - could you share your thought process behind integrating vertical dimensions with the steel textures and reflective materials to enhance the overall spatial experience?

The generous ceiling height was used to reinforce the spatial hierarchy and uplift the interior experience. We emphasized vertical lines through tall partitions, linear lighting, and floor-to-ceiling textures. Steel was introduced to reflect Aton Group’s strength and innovation, while reflective materials further exaggerated height and airiness. The result is a sculpted volume that feels open, ambitious, and bold mirroring the forward-thinking spirit of the company.

Considering Aton Office serves as a developer's headquarters, how did you balance creating distinct functional zones for office work, reception, meetings, and social spaces while maintaining a cohesive design language throughout the 3,450 square feet?

We treated each function as part of a larger narrative, connected by material consistency, color tone, and lighting language. While the spatial zoning is clear dividing reception, open offices, private rooms, and auditorium the design language flows seamlessly using steel textures, monochrome palette, and light-enhancing finishes. Transition zones were softened with diffused lighting and curated views to ensure a fluid yet purposeful experience throughout the office.

The Bronze A' Design Award recognizes Aton Office's innovative use of materials - what inspired your specific selection of glass, mirror, and reflective laminates, and how do these materials contribute to both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the workspace?

We were inspired by Aton Group’s brand character resilient, visionary, and dynamic. Glass and mirrors symbolize transparency and clarity, aligning with corporate values, while reflective laminates serve dual purposes: expanding visual space and enhancing brightness. These materials also subtly shift moods throughout the day, enriching user interaction with the space and supporting a more energized and modern work environment.

In designing Aton Office for Aton Group, a company focused on dynamic and innovative properties, how did you ensure the interior design would reflect and reinforce their corporate identity and values?

We translated Aton Group’s identity into spatial language strong lines for structure, reflective materials for innovation, and bold contrasts for ambition. The palette was kept sophisticated yet industrial, reinforcing their future-driven development ethos. Every design decision from layout to materials was curated to communicate confidence, clarity, and progressiveness, effectively embedding the brand’s DNA into the physical environment.

The strategic layout of Aton Office transitions from open workstations to private manager rooms - could you elaborate on how this spatial progression supports different work styles while fostering both collaboration and focus?

The layout was orchestrated to mirror natural workflows beginning with collaborative zones and gradually transitioning into focused, private areas. Open workstations encourage interaction and dynamism, while private rooms offer retreat and strategic planning. Acoustic materials and partitions support this flow without visual disconnection, enabling employees to switch between teamwork and concentration effortlessly.

Looking at the research phase for Aton Office, how did your analysis of private and communal spaces influence the final design decisions to enhance productivity and collaboration?

We conducted user flow studies and departmental needs assessments to determine optimal adjacencies and privacy gradients. The design ensures that communal spaces such as the reception, lounge, and meeting zones are accessible yet acoustically controlled. This balance encourages spontaneous collaboration without disrupting individual productivity forming a hybrid layout suited for modern work dynamics.

The high-tech auditorium stands as a distinctive feature within Aton Office - could you share the specific design considerations that went into creating this space to support modern presentation and communication needs?

The auditorium was envisioned as a multifunctional arena supporting townhalls, client presentations, and internal workshops. We integrated tiered seating, advanced AV systems, and concealed lighting to create a polished yet flexible environment. The acoustics were optimized for clarity, and the aesthetic reflects the overall office tone contemporary, bold, and high-performance.

Given that Aton Office was completed in January 2022 in Malaysia, how did local cultural elements and contemporary workplace trends influence your design approach?

We took cues from local work habits valuing privacy, hospitality, and hierarchy while integrating global trends like openness, flexibility, and technology-forward features. This fusion allowed us to respect Malaysian workplace culture while pushing boundaries through spatial openness, dynamic zones, and tech-integrated meeting rooms. It’s a balance of respect and reinvention.

As Aton Office showcases your emerging design perspective in Malaysia, how do you envision this project influencing your future work and contributing to the evolution of modern office design in Southeast Asia?

Aton Office solidified our belief that corporate spaces should echo brand narratives and user behavior. This project is a benchmark for designing with intention prioritizing identity, well-being, and flexibility. Moving forward, we aim to champion offices that go beyond function, crafting environments that empower companies and enrich daily work life across Southeast Asia.
