Initially, my focus was on incentivizing hotels to adopt eco-friendly measures. Through a digital interface, I created a system highlighting sustainable amenities and environmentally responsible actions that users can engage in directly. As the concept evolved, I introduced a green credit system that rewards sustainable behaviors, aiming to make eco-friendly travel choices accessible and rewarding.
Papera’s sustainable hotel ranking system is based on carefully selected metrics that reflect a hotel’s environmental impact, such as energy efficiency, waste management, water conservation, use of eco-friendly amenities, and sustainable sourcing. We conducted extensive research on industry standards and collaborated with sustainability experts to develop comprehensive and verifiable criteria. This ranking system not only allows guests to make informed choices but also encourages hotels to continuously improve their practices.
The green credit system in Papera directly incentivizes waste reduction by awarding guests for eco-friendly behaviors, such as choosing hotels with high sustainability scores, declining single-use plastics, or participating in on-site recycling programs. This system tracks and quantifies guest actions, offering redeemable credits or discounts for future stays. By linking rewards to specific behaviors, Papera encourages guests to contribute to a measurable reduction in solid waste generated during their travels.

The platform showcases hotels that offer high-quality, sustainable alternatives to traditional amenities, emphasizing luxury options that align with eco-friendly standards.
