Your innovative approach to natural lighting and ventilation in Embrace Afterglow Residential Space has earned recognition at the A' Design Award - could you elaborate on how the curved wall mechanism enhances both the environmental performance and the visual experience of the space?

The curved walls arranged in an array are not only the medium that defines the transition from the public domain to the private domain,Reasonable arrangement of its staggered seams can not only increase visual penetration but also help soften the boundary of the space. It not only creates the user's spatial experience, but also allows this visual fluidity to achieve the best effect and enhance the visual experience of the space.Another benefit is that it allows air and light to travel to another space. Good natural lighting and ventilation are crucial to improving the comfort of the indoor environment. This design also enhances the environmental performance of the space.

The concept of "immersed in time" is central to Embrace Afterglow Residential Space - how did this philosophy influence your decisions regarding the spatial flow and the connection between indoor and outdoor environments?

As a retirement residence, time is undoubtedly the most valuable asset. How to immerse yourself in time and enjoy it is an important core of this case. After fully assessing the living habits of the users, we learned that the public domain is the space where they communicate with each other and stay the longest. We rationally arranged each space with this concept, and then used staggered curved walls to create spaces that did not directly isolate the space. Under such circumstances, these areas can be deftly defined while maintaining the openness of the space. It can also seamlessly connect the public areas with the external environment, extending the continuity between indoors and outdoors, allowing users to enjoy more in their leisurely retirement life. communication and interaction.

In designing Embrace Afterglow Residential Space for six users to live together harmoniously, what inspired your unique arrangement of pairing bedrooms into units with shared amenities, and how does this configuration promote both privacy and community?

To balance retirement life for users, they want to maintain a reasonable distance between people and at the same time be able to communicate with others easily. The core of this design is to optimize the use of public spaces and reduce the space of individual bedrooms, with the aim of allowing frequently used public areas to fully utilize their functions and characteristics. Therefore, the 6 bedrooms were divided into 3 areas in the design, and the wardrobes of each 2 bedrooms were combined into a shared facility for the 2 bedrooms. This not only enhanced the connection between the private spaces, but also became a link between the public space and the bedrooms. the transition zone between. This arrangement allows residents to enjoy a certain degree of privacy while also having easy access to public areas. . This planning concept also allowed the six users to agree with this unique arrangement.

The extended white marble sofas in Embrace Afterglow Residential Space create an intriguing blur between living space and urban landscape - could you share the thought process behind this design element and its role in fostering a connection with the surrounding city?

The building is located on the edge of the city center, adjacent to the park, and due to the distance between the buildings, it can enjoy a broad view of the city center skyline. This design allows the residence to not only enjoy the natural landscape, but also see the prosperity of the city. Natural light and beautiful exterior views are introduced through the wide window strips, so that residents can feel the harmonious coexistence of the city and nature at any time.A 10-meter-long white marble sofa is designed on the window strip. When the window is opened, this area is connected to the balcony and becomes a semi-outdoor space, extending indoor activities. This not only provides a relaxing area with a wide view, but also greatly increases the flexibility of the social space due to its openness and flexibility. The design of the sleeping area allows users to easily enjoy the external scenery when relaxing or socializing, improving the comfort and interactivity of living.

How does the viewing garden concept in Embrace Afterglow Residential Space facilitate interaction between different living areas while maintaining the sense of ritual and refreshing atmosphere you sought to create?

The viewing garden social area is the largest public space. Through careful layout and structural design, it realizes the extension of indoor and outdoor activities, the transition between private space and public area, and creates a flowing space with a sense of ritual. It is also possible to carry out daily activities in the natural scenery, whether it is relaxing, reading or socializing, and the flexibility of the space allows it to adapt to different needs. The connection and transition between areas are achieved through curved walls. This design breaks the boundaries of traditional straight lines and blurs the clear boundaries between spaces through the curved arrangement. This vague definition allows residents to experience a gradual transition from layer to layer when moving between spaces, bringing a ritualistic and refreshing atmosphere. For example, when residents move from their private bedrooms into the public social area, they will experience a gradual opening process. This design not only brings a sense of spatial layering, but also enhances the ritual sense of the activity, making every move more enjoyable. It is not just a transformation of space, but also a transition of state of mind.

The clean, subtractive approach in Embrace Afterglow Residential Space creates a fascinating interplay between public and private spaces - could you explain how this design strategy enhances the daily living experience for residents?

Retirement residences need to have ample natural light and transparency to enhance the quality of life for their residents. Your emphasis on natural materials and bespoke details is evident throughout Embrace Afterglow Residential Space - what guided your material selection process, and how do these choices contribute to the overall aesthetic and functionality?

This kind of meticulous planning can make the space more in line with the actual needs of the residents, improving comfort and convenience of life. For example, considering the activity needs of the elderly, the height of furniture such as beds and sofas may be adjusted to a more comfortable range during design, or barrier-free walkways and bathrooms may be designed.Aesthetics and functionality are complementary to each other. We must consider not only visual harmony and beauty, but also the actual use and functional requirements of the space. Reasonable proportion design can make the space feel more smooth and open, and make it easier to carry out daily activities.
