Interview about Lovely Lines Silk Scarf Collection, winner of the A' Fashion and Travel Accessories Design Award 2022
The project has begun with drawings and creative outbursts to bring more colorful accents to the world. The designer created bright abstract geometric illustrations, and the desire to shape her ideas in a new tangible way encouraged her to produce a collection of women's accessories. Drawings full of energy and colors turned into textile patterns, then printed on silk base, and finally became scarves. The designer offers seven vibrant geometric fantasies inspired by Nature and uses signature combinations of colors filled with sea and sun shades.

The ocean’s dynamic energy and tranquil hues influenced the use of flowing, wave-like geometric patterns, with shades of deep blue, turquoise, and aquamarine evoking the calming yet powerful presence of the sea. These elements evoke a sense of movement and fluidity, capturing the essence of tides and currents.The sun inspired the introduction of warm, radiant colors such as golden yellows, fiery oranges, and soft ambers. The geometric patterns reflect the sun’s rays through radiating lines and symmetrical arrangements, symbolizing energy, vitality, and warmth. By blending cool and warm tones, the collection embodies the harmonious dance between the sea and sun—elements that are ever-present in nature, inspiring a collection that is both vibrant and soothing.
The transition from abstract geometric illustrations to the silk scarves in the Lovely Lines Silk Scarf Collection was driven by a desire to bring my artistic expressions into a more personal and tangible form. I’ve always been inspired by the idea of blending art with everyday life, and transforming my designs into wearable accessories allows for a deeper, more intimate connection with the viewer. Silk scarves serve as a canvas that elevates my geometric patterns, turning them into dynamic, movable pieces of art. This shift was motivated by my passion for exploring new mediums and creating versatile pieces that can be both aesthetically striking and emotionally meaningful. Ultimately, I wanted to invite people to carry a piece of art with them, making the abstract beauty of my illustrations a part of their daily expressions.
My extensive experimentation with various fabric bases ultimately led me to select pure silk for the Lovely Lines Silk Scarf Collection because of its exceptional qualities that perfectly complement and enhance my designs. Silk crepe's smooth, luxurious texture provides a refined surface that allows intricate geometric patterns to be rendered with clarity and sharpness. Its natural drape and fluidity create elegant folds and movement, bringing the abstract patterns to life in a way that static fabrics cannot. Moreover, silk crepe's subtle sheen adds a luminous quality to the colors, making the vibrant palette truly pop and giving the designs a radiant, sophisticated look. Its durability and lightweight nature also make it comfortable to wear, ensuring that the scarves are both beautiful and practical. Overall, silk unique combination of texture, luster, and movement made it the ideal canvas for transforming my artistic visions into wearable, timeless pieces.

I experiment with different arrangements, balancing symmetry and asymmetry to create a captivating visual rhythm. Once the sketch feels right, I move on to refining the design digitally, incorporating precise lines and experimenting with color palettes that enhance the pattern's depth and vibrancy. This stage allows me to visualize how the pattern will look on the silk fabric and make adjustments to ensure clarity and impact.After finalizing the digital design, I collaborate with printing specialists to translate the artwork onto the silk crepe. The printing process captures every detail, maintaining the sharpness and precision of the geometric lines. The result is a vibrant, intricate pattern that embodies the initial artistic vision, ready to be transformed into a luxurious scarf.Throughout this evolution, I focus on maintaining the integrity of the design while embracing the unique qualities of silk crepe, ensuring that the final textile is both a piece of art and a wearable masterpiece.

The city’s blend of modernity and tradition encouraged me to incorporate bold, contemporary geometric patterns that reflect its innovative spirit, while also paying homage to its cultural heritage through subtle motifs and intricate detailing.The local environment’s spectacular sunsets and desert landscapes inspired a warm, luminous color palette—think rich golds, fiery oranges, deep reds, and soft sandy neutrals. These hues mirror Dubai’s breathtaking skies and natural surroundings, infusing the scarves with a sense of place and atmosphere. Additionally, the multicultural backdrop encouraged a fusion of styles and influences, resulting in designs that are both globally sophisticated and locally rooted.
